![]() Edd was in the United States Air Force from 1962 to 1966. He was in the Texas Air National Guard from 1973 to 1976. He was in the United States Air Force Reserve from 1988 to 1993. His younger brother retired from the United States Air Force as a Major in 1993. His older brother also served 21 years in the United States Air Force. His niece and nephew also retired from the USAF with 21 years each. Edd's family has almost 100 years of combined military service. Edd learned to square dance in Germany. A couple of the photos are from square dances. |

![]() Patton's Third Army in World War II from 1943-1946 In Bitche, France March 1945, 3d Battalion, 398th Infantry won a Presidential Unit Citation there, the entire 100th Division became known as "The Sons of Bitche." During 3- 12 April 1945 the 3/398th again earned Presidential Unit Citation in the process of eradicating a center German resistance in Heilbronn. SGT Ralston was awarded the Bronze Star for "repeatedly exposing himself to sniper fire and almost continuous indirect fire to keep his company in contact with an adjacent unit. |

Top also served as a Volunteer Fire Investigator for Bexar County Fire Marshal’s Office while stationed at Fort Sam Houston. Overseas: Germany, Panama, Bosnia, Honduras, El Salvador. Top's most cherished positions were was that of Working Dog Handler and First Sergeant. Life member of VFW, NRA and Texas SAR (Sons of the American Revolution) NRA Credentialed Pistol Instructor, Certified License to Carry Instructor, "licensed" Texas Peace Officer. All my children are adults and serving their country or community. "Truth is never afraid of a question." |
